Nicki Minaj to perform at the Democrat National Convention

It looks like Bruce Springsteen won’t be on the stage in Charlotte during the Democratic National Convention in September.
Although The Observer’s news partner, WCNC, reported earlier Thursday that the Boss will perform with Bono during a charity event for Bono’s ONE sponsored by Politico, a source for Politico responded the report was not correct.
Politico expects to make an announcement about that event next week.
The Observer had reported earlier that ONE, the global anti-poverty organization founded by rocker-activist Bono, would co-host an invitation-only event with the website Politico.
Meanwhile, WCNC reports that Eminem, Styx and rapper Nicki Minaj have been confirmed for private parties during the DNC. The B52s also may make an appearance, and John Legend, who performed at the convention in Denver in 2008, also is expected to be in Charlotte that week.
In another appearance that has been confirmed by Observer sources, The Roots, the house band for Jimmy Fallon’s show, will perform at Amos’ and at a private event sponsored by Startup/Rock On.
