The "Now That's What I Call Music!" franchise collects its 16th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as "Now 43" arrives atop the list. The set sold 111,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Excluding the "Now" series' offshoot sets (like its holiday and genre-themed efforts), all of the regular "Now" albums have reached the top 10. And all but the first one, released in 1998, have debuted in the top 10. The first "Now" album to hit No. 1 was 2000's "Now 4."
The "Now" line represents the bulk of the only 23 various artist sets that have led the Billboard 200 in its 56-year history. (Various artists albums differ from compilation soundtracks -- which regularly hit No. 1 -- and cast recordings.)
Last week's No. 1, Rick Ross' "God Forgives, I Don't," slips to No. 2 with 60,000 and a 73% decline in sales.
At No. 3, Frank Sinatra's "Nothing But the Best" greatest hits set reenters with 40,000 (up 2,531%) after Amazon MP3 discounted it for 99 cents one day last week (Aug. 7). The 20-song album was originally released in 2008 and debuted and peaked at No. 2 with 99,000 upon its. The Amazon-fueled week is its best sales frame since its second week on the chart, when it moved 54,000 at No. 4.
Singer/songwriter Elle Varner makes a stronger-than-expected bow at No. 4 with "Perfectly Imperfect," selling 33,000. Some label sources had thought it was going to move 25,000 to 30,000 as of last Friday. And that forecast was already double what those-in-the-know had initially projected. The RCA album includes Varner's two top 20 hits on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, "Only Wanna Give It To You" (featuring J. Cole) and "Refill."

At No. 5, Colt Ford's "Declaration of Independence" drives in with a career-high sales week of 31,000. It also gives the country act his best rank on the Billboard 200, easily surpassing the No. 26 debut and peak of 2011's "Every Chance I Get." Over on the Country Albums chart, "Declaration of Independence" zooms from No. 67 to No. 1, giving Ford his first chart-topper on that tally. (The album arrived early a week ago, after sales caused by street-date violations pushed it onto the list.)
Back on the Billboard 200, Zac Brown Band's "Uncaged" falls 2-6 with just over 31,000 (down 21%), Justin Bieber's "Believe" slips four to No. 7 with 29,000 (down 16%) and One Direction's "Up All Night" falls four to No. 8 with a little over 29,000 (down 13%). Adele's "21" slips a spot to No. 9 with 26,000 (down 9%) and the "Kidz Bop 22" album descends three to No. 10 with 23,000 (down 28%).

I'm not sure but thriller has 78 weeks in the top 10 and I'm going assume this is overall adele is now in her 77th week in the top 10.
Besides thriller there a born in the usa ewith 84 weeks and that soundtrack with 109 weeks i think

Thriller's 78 weeks is its overall total - but it was also consecutive weeks.
Record for longest stay in top 10 without ever leaving it is Born In The USA with 84 weeks from debut.

Georgia Rapper Proves a Playa with Chart-Topping Debut

Another week, another IDJ artist hits the top spot..
Barry Weiss, Steve Bartels and company are as hot as the weather this summer, looking at a third hip-hop—and fourth overall—chart-topper on tap. Following Justin Bieber, then Nas and Rick Ross, comes Def Jam College Park, GA, rapper 2 Chainz’s Based on a T.R.U. Story, which is on target for a #1 debut next Tuesday, with sales in the 130-140k range.
Tauheed Epps, a one-time Playaz Circle member formerly known as Tity Boi, was a protégé of fellow Atlanta rapper Ludacris before breaking out on his own. He had high-profile appearances on hit singles by Kanye West (“Mercy”) and Nicki Minaj (“Beez in the Trap”). The first single from his album, “No Lie,” features Drake.
Notorious Psychopathic Juggalos Insane Clown Posse’s latest, with the Fiona Apple-sque title of The Mighty Death Pop!; Smothered, Covered & Chunked; Freaky Tales; Mike E. Clark's Extra Pop Emporium, is eyeing first-week sales of 35-40k, which would make for a likely Top 5 debut.
Century Media L.A. metalcore group In This Moment, founded in 2005 by lead singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth, will see their fourth studio album for the label, Blood, debut with 20-25k after their 2010 release, A Star-Crossed Wasteland, bowed in the Top 40.
Hopeless Records’ Jacksonville, FL, pop-punk band Yellowcard’s Southern Air, the second indie release after leaving Capitol, is headed for between 15-20k in first-week sales, the same amount as Stoopid’s pop-ska outfit Slightly Stoopid. Integrity gospel group Israel & New Breed looks to sell between 10-12k.
Album sales were down 5% vs. last week, down 17% vs. same week last year (when Jay Z & Kanye's Watch the Throne debuted with 436k) and down 4% year to date.
Track sales were flat vs. last week, up 5% vs. same week last year and up 6% year to date
TEA sales were down 3% vs. last week, down 11% vs. same week last year and down 1% year to date.

2 Chainz Set for No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200
2 Chainz is headed for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The rapper's debut studio effort, "Based On a T.R.U. Story," is on course to sell upwards of 130,000 copies by week's end on Aug. 19 (so say industry forecasters). That will easily place him atop the Billboard 200 heap next week, as he has little competition standing in his way. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 22.
Since debuting a little over a year ago on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (under his former stage name Tity Boi), the hip-hop artist has notched 10 hit singles on the tally. Of those, two have hit No. 1: his own "No Lie" (featuring Drake) and "Mercy" (credited to Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz).
The Billboard 200's next biggest bow will likely come from Insane Clown Posse's "The Might Death Pop," which may do 35,000 or more. The duo's last studio set, 2009's "Bang! Pow! Boom!," debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 50,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Other albums on course for a high entry on the Billboard 200 include Yellowcard's "Southern Air," Slightly Stoopid's "Top of the World" and In This Moment's "Blood."
