Well let's take Britney and imagine her as a product. Each product has a life cycle that goes through the Introduction Stage, Growth Stage, Maturity Stage and finally the Decline Stage.
Looking at recent events (Femme Fatale Album and Femme Fatale Tour) her sales are the worst compared to her previous eras. Her Album sold 1.5M WW (SHOCKING) and I never imagined Britney would ever has difficulty selling out concerts - Most of her venues weren't sold out -
Thus, these series of unfortunate events indicate that Britney has reached the "Maturity Stage"
Maturity Stage Definition
Quote:
The maturity stage is when a product has grown in the market to it's full potential and begins to stagnate or slow in sales. This has presented many issues for companies due to the reduction of product value
No. Britney is an estabilished artist, not like some newbies who are actually reaching their peaks and are going "down down down".
Oh and by the way Femme Fatale has sold more than 2M copies worldwide, last time I checked the numbers said 2,5M, can't confirm though. And her tour did great
no, she just had her biggest radio hit ever, and another very successful worldwide single. of course she won't be as successful as she was at her prime, but I think she can still show us a lot in future.
as someone said, she's an estabilished artist
and with that kind of debut, it's hard not to decline lol.

I agree. She hasn't had this many hit singles since her debut.
that chart
musically, she's probably in the decline stage
she's still really popular though, she can probably use that in other ways (like the judging gig)
Not every pop artist, but a lot of them. Madonna wasn't on the decline until Erotica and Mariah wasn't on the decline until Rainbow. Even Beyonce didn't hit her decline until the 4 era. So not every pop artist
