Movies for both prestige and relevance. They easily win prestige while relevance is a closer race.

Music is more important than film.

But I dont even get this question, what do you mean prestige? Both the movie industry and music industry have their prestigious albums/movies and poptart/popcorn flick albums/movies.

I will say musicians are more genuine than movie stars though.

Movie industry. Films are grossing more than ever and dvd sales are really high compared to CD sales. Film ceremonies are actually worth taking seriously too unlike most music ceremonies.

In terms of these two industries? Nothing. They're both equally relevant.

The biggest musical acts of each generation define the generation, you cant really say the same thing about a film. I mean The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Zeppelin, Nirvana all defined more cultural aspects of society than any film can.

Actors are more respected
Musicians are more well known.

I think that the Music industry produces more remembered hits and has an overall more significant impact culturally.

Movie is like sex to me. It's not that important. Music on the other hand is money. I need it most of the time.

I guess movies because even many singers want to go into movies. But musicians seem to be more well-known; what actor can compare to Lady Gaga's fame nowadays? And Britney Spears, Madonna and Michael Jackson at their peaks?

Musicians are both more respected and more well known. Just Take Marlon Brando vs The Beatles for example. Or Nicholson vs Dylan.

In alot of cases the actors are just props for the films/directors, while musicians usually have a say in the outcome of their material.
