S-Curve soul diva Joss Stone’s The Soul Sessions Vol. 2 reunites her with Steve Greenberg, and it’s on tap for between 21-25k, based on one-day sales reports from those music retailers not summering at their homes in the Hamptons or Laguna.


RCA’s Sparkle soundtrack, featuring the last recorded music by the late Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks, is looking at 13-16k, in front of the movie’s Aug. 17 opening.

J. Lo had American Idol, a small comeback and "Dance Again" but flopped.

Sparkle is a soundtrack and no one has checked for Joss Stone in like... ever. These flopped sales don't give J. Lo's sh itty selling power a pass.

Joss Stone has always sold well with no single success. Her last album opened with over 30k and this album has had more hype and better reviews. Plus Sparkle has unreleased Whitney, should have done more than 13k. And who even knew JLo had a greatest hits album out from performing a song two months before any announcement.

Yeah, both releases should be doing better really.

What does this have to do with JLo? ALL of these sales are awful.

Sad for Joss, The Soul Sessions Vol. 2 is really really good.

It's on track to do as much as her previous releases. Regardless of how much hype this has over her previous, that doesn't guarantee some huge comeback. She also promoted the last album a bit more than this.

As for Sparkle, it's a soundtrack.

Jennifer had way more mainstream support than either of these releases, through various outlets. So she's still worse.

Soundtrack albums peak during the movie release week which is in 2 weeks.

Soundtracks don't do well & it's had zero promotion. The main draw is Whitney who has one gospel song & a duet.

Why did people stop supporting Queen Joss?

I never did. Numbers mean nothing when your fav performs gig after gig with just a microphone, sense of humour and live vocals. You don't see that much anymore tbh.
