Everyone knows the story of Britney Spears. Teenage pop superstar who brokethrough and proved that teen-pop stars were marketable and able to compete in the pop world. Through her massive success, she revived a seemingly dead genre (Bubblegum pop) and turned it into an entire industry. Due to her massive success, she acquired "competitors" from other pop-princesses such as Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and most famously Christina Aguilera (who the general public agreed was more talented). She became the face of many products and even had her own Pepsi commercial. Little girls and gays wanted to be her, and little boys wanted to be with her. She even got so big at one point, she had a DOLL made after her. She truly became an icon.
