I don't know. It would be weird. How would I know that they can be trusted? What if we have nothing in common and hate eachother? You know? There are so many factors. If I was able to get to know them well enough before they moved in, sure.

It's not an on-the-spot thing. You get a whole packet about them and they write a little biography. They aren't total strangers when they come. You can contact them through e-mail or facebook and stuff.

My cousin did that once, and I met her. She was nice, and it was a good experience for all of them.

But my friend's family knows someone who took in a student from France one year. He didn't like the family, so in an effort to avoid having them visit him in his home country the next year, he took a **** in their shower on his last day there.

So I don't know. I'd be more inclined to travel and stay with someone else than to actually be a host, but if the opportunity came up... I might.

I (my parents) did it twice...

The first one was 2 hot German guys, we were 15 y/o. I spend not that much time with them, I don't speak German, I don't remember if they speak French. But we played football (soccer), and some video games, but nothing more.

The second one it was one English straight guy from Peterborough (I went to his house as an exchange students), my school and his have/had (I don't know if they still do it ) an European partnership to all classes of International Trade sections. I was 18, he was really nice, I introduce him all my friends (he hooked up with one of my friends), we partied quite a lot. The year after at his house, it was crazy, we were like the 2 brothers. I love his family, he loves mine. We are still in touch and we do have see each other at least once a year (Except when I spent 2 year in London for my business school, I saw him like every weekend).

I'm going to study abroad next year in Chile so I can relate. It'd be cool to get to know someone like that.
