Stay calm, people! Hilary Duff is back in the studio. I repeat: Hilary Duff is back in the studio.
According to a few tweets and this instagram photo (see above), Hilary has been in the booth recording her comeback album with writer-producer Mitch Allan, songwriter Ali Tamposi, and rocker Jason Evigan.
Hilary previously worked with Mitch Allan on Dignity’s “Happy”, but outside of the Duffster, Allan’s worked with a who’s who of commercial pop-rock artists like Daughtry, Lindsay Lohan, Simple Plan, and funnily enough, Mexi-pop diva Belinda.
Hil’s also worked with Tamposi before, but only on previous sessions for her new album. Tamposi penned Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”, and she’s also working on the new Ciara album, so you know she’s makin’ some magic for Hilary.
Lastly, Jason Evigan is the lead singer from L.A. rock band After Midnight Project, making for yet another non-dance collaborator for Hil’s new album after
I know that Hilary previously said she wanted to give us some Robyn realness on her comeback disc, but this return to pop-rock is a better move for the former teen idol. Carly Rae Jepson, as utterly flawless as she is, basically just recorded a slightly more mature version of Hilary’s Metamorphosis album for her Curiosity EP. It’s time for Hilary to snatch that **** back and show bitches just who originated that sound!
