Constructive Criticism (NOW: Christina Aguilera)
Let's face it. None of our faves are perfect. Not all of their songs and albums are 100% perfect.
In this thread you can give each artist constructive criticism on how they should improve on their art. That means performances, music videos, albums, and the like. I don't want to see a bunch of posts about "more promo" or something like that.
Remember, be constructive and fair, not too shady!
So Far we've done:
1. Lady Gaga
2. Madonna
3. Beyoncé
4. Britney Spears
5. Christina Aguilera

I think Gaga simply needs to stop trying so hard. I really think she went overboard on the "crazy" for a while and people tired of it. Most of the general public I've talked with that are just casual fans think she's a whack job. There's no need for it, really. She's so talented and makes some great music, I just think she tries too hard to be outrageous.

I think Gaga really needs to stop directing her music videos and get some cohesion on them. It's like 100 ideas thrown on at once and it just seems really flash in the pan, especially recently. Bad Romance worked not because of the story, but everything seemed to fit together cohesively. You and I, Judas, and Born This Way videos aren't cutting it and just seem random, pretentious and pointless.
I have a problem with a few songs on BTW and I felt like it was a bit too self indulgent but I can't be too hard on that album cause the good songs were ridiculously good.

1. Stop making songs like Bad Kids and the bonus tracks of Born this Way, but continue artistically progressing.
2. Don't let another "The Edge of Glory" video happen.
That's it.

Get professional directors and don't use the Haus or do it yourself. The videos turn out good when you or the Haus directs them but they should turn out brilliantly.

Get back on track with the music videos, get a better choreographer and ummm, cut back on the excessive filler that plagues your records.

I'll just criticise the whole BTW era starting with the singles.
Born This Way: The song is decent and I understand why you started off the era with this single. The music video is okay too but it is all over the place. It needs to be more cohesive and less confusing. I like the homage at the end of the video but I personally think it'll be better if it was removed. The 'Express Yourself' comparisons did wonders for publicity and probably helped in boosting the sales. So good job with that.
Judas: Ugh. You and your obsession with including religious elements in everything. I personally hate Judas as a song but I'll try not to be biased with this. The video, cinematically, was probably your best out of the whole era. The religious controversies and getting blacklisted on the radio however, not so good. This shouldn't have been a single at all.
The Edge Of Glory: Beautiful song, this seems to be everyone's favorite. The video is a mess though. Why did you have to fire the director, Gaga? If anything, you could have just extended the deadline and hire a new director instead of making a homemade garage video of you humping the streets in haute couture and basically doing nothing. Worst video to date.
Hair:Horrible song. So corny and cheesy but people love it so whatever.
You and I: You hit rock bottom with this blasphemous song. Dedicating a song to a scumbag? Yeah, that'll turn out great! The video looks aesthetically pleasing but the story is so ****ing confusing and I'm pretty sure it's backwards? I don't even know. It's nice to see you experimenting with other genres and generally succeeding in it though. This should have never been a single in the first place but some people will argue that it has cross-over appeal so I'll let it slide.
Marry The Night: Flawless song, too bad it flopped. At this point, people got sick of you and moved onto other things. You also got shunned on the radio too. The video is great but people seem too hate on it because of the longevity but their opinion is irrelevant anyway. I just wish you picked out better singles and actually worked with professionals instead of believing that you can do everything yourself. No gaga, you can't and it's time you start to realize that.
Now moving onto her imagery. For the most part, it was decent. Mostly everything awesome came out at the end of the era. The mole, the two-toned hair, the prosthetic spikes, just one big huge mess... The photoshoots were awesome though.
Tips: WORK WITH PROFESSIONALS AND STOP THINKING YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF. I know you'll start doing this next era because you want to succeed and the BTW era was just for your fans and mostly experimentation. That's done, now time to move on and slay everyone again.
I'm too lazy to continue but I'll end with this note. When people think of Gaga, they will look back onto this era whether people like it or not. I have a feeling that she will slay the charts next era and be extremely commercially successful.

Gaga needs to take like a chill pill, or 9. She comes off as a try hard, and her music videos? guuuurl
Just keep it simple

Madonna, you are my favorite artist ever. You need to be inspired again. MDNA and Hard Candy seemed like side projects, and it sucks that they come from the same person who made Erotic and Music. You don't have to be introspective or anything, but I want to hear you care a lot about your music.

Madonna: You are my second favorite artist after Gaga. You messed up with 2 consecutive bad albums with decent material within them. You were perfection before that. Except some minor flaws(I'm So Stupid). Oh and stop with the Gaga vs Madonna thing. You took a bad turn with the Born This Way/Express Yourself mashup. It just made you look bad to media and the public. I don't care about you being nice or not though.

Madonna: find a new way to transition to the next stage of career that's not pairing yourself with young music stars of today and creating generic, bland radio filler music...

Great thread btw! Never seen anything like this (haven't been on here long tho)
I think Madonna could really own her Queen status and be more welcoming to new artists (not just Gaga). Like Queen Whitney did. She was always supportive of new girls and always kept her crown. Also I would like to see more promo

Please do not try to "stay current" by putting Nicki Minaj features on your albums. All that does is tarnish your reputation. Find real inspiration for your next album, make interesting music again, make a quality album again.

Madonna, please stop trying to be 27 again. It's not happening. You have potential to make at least one more phenomenal album so please get on that.
Everyone else basically covered everything I have to say about Madonna.

Just get ****ing inspired again and put out another solid album that you feel connected to. She seems so disconnected with the MDNA era.
I know she's been very busy and focused on other major projects like promoting and directing her film but maybe MDNA could have waited until she was able to give it her all.

Madonna: Should age with her music and she was doing it so well in the late 90s and early 00s but suddenly her music started ageing backwards and now she's singing songs that would suit Selena Gomez much better. She was, is and forever will be the Queen and I don't like to see her album struggling (and I kinda liked MDNA) but at least her tour has turned out great. I wish her the best.
Gaga: Your fans will only get you so far. You are still doing great music and videos but they don't have mass appeal like they used to. A majority of the "die hard" little monsters will eventually get bored by you if your songs don't smash on the radio in the upcoming years. Fix this. Other than that I like you.

Madonna, whatever you release right now is most likely going to flop, so please stop with chart-hungry pseudo-songs like Girl Gone Wild because they won't take you anywhere. Your career is now 30 years old and I think you're beyond making music as dumb as that by now. If you want to make dance music, that's OK, but at least make intelligent dance music.
And please keep in mind that no one's ever here for any movie involving you whether you're in front of or behind the camera. Music is what you're good at and that's where you should actually put some effort. You've had two not-so-good albums in a row by now and it hasn't been cool for us fans.
And stop using vocoder/autotune on your live performances, everyone hates that ****.
Speaking of directing, Gaga, stay away from the director chair for good.

Beyonce - I have no music/music video complaints, but sometimes I wish she just... let loose in the performance. Sometimes her performances seem too trained. It's not question she's one of the most talented performers of all time, but I need her to seem less trained at times.
