Has anyone here ever taken one or know anyone who has? Im thinking about it and currently reading reviews and whatnot.

Any of you have any success or horror stories?

I HATE THEM! I've taken 3 and unless you have a lot of willpower to read and pace yourself accordingly, I don't recommend them. Me, personally, am more of a hands on type person so I don't absorb much from just reading and then taking a quiz/test over it. I have to have the classroom environment around me or I lose interest and motivation. It really depends on what type of learner you are.

Honestly, difficulty depends on the class. You have to force yourself to do the work, because its not like you have to get up and go.

I wouldn't recommended taking a science or math course online, they were a tad bit harder for me anyways.

Basically you just have to be able to keep up with the work. Little bit different from face to face classes.

im taking one now for math its pretty easy

cant stand sitting in a classroom when a teacher isn't explaining the material enough , this is only for math though i just hate that subject

all other classes i take aren't online

It's much tougher than taking a face-to-face course, honestly. Most of the difficulty has to do with keeping yourself focused, which is incredibly difficult when you are in the comfort of your own home and have distractions surrounding you. If you can keep yourself focused, the course work is not all that more difficult. Then again, maybe I'm not the right person to ask about difficulty, given that I have pretty much breezed through college so far without much effort.

Which brings me to another point. Do your research if you aren't taking the online courses through an actual University/Institution.

This. And if possible get professor recommendedations if possible.

They're the same thing, Mazen. Really. Especially if you take online courses through an actual university (as I'm doing right now, out of necessity). The only difference is that you can do course work in your pajamas without feeling guilty about doing so.

For me, its easy. My University offers campus base/online courses. I choose online. You have to keep track of your assignments, discussion boards. Depending on the person, if you been out of school for awhile I do suggest taking campus based classes first.

I've taken a few. It isn't bad, I like it. Very convenient. The only downside is that you have no one in person to help, but at least you can email your professor as much as you need to.

Community colleges and local Universities offer online courses. Some people can't attend campus based instruction because of work/family life. Don't be rude.

I do suggest only taking online classes offered through your local college/ real university.

I've taken soooo many online classes and most of them were so easy! Don't take a math or science class online though- everything else is easy as hell online. It also depends allot on the teacher so make sure to check them out on rate my professor and read what reviews say about their online classes. I've taken online classes where I literally didn't learn **** I got to use my book on all of the tests and passed with an A. I've taken other online classes where I have to go to the school to take the tests so it could be harder.

All in all, its definitely easier then driving to school every day for class. Online classes aren't supposed to be easier they're supposed to be more convenient for you. My school also has its own forum for online classes which is sort of like ATRL but for school/learning. I would definitly advise taking the class online if its a class thats easy like geography 101, history 101, english 101, anything 101 really.
