It seems like Capitol really wants this song and the movie to do well so that they can end the era with a bang, so maybe if it starts falling on iTunes or doesn't go #1 soon. I hope they don't do a remix, though. Can you imagine a rap breakdown in the middle of Wide Awake?

I think the video will do what it needs to do to close in on Carly. Then I think if Justin is able to take a song to #1 from Believe this week, it will give Katy the lucky opportunity to snag it when he decreases. Then the movie promo. This is the same song that increased hard just from being on radio, then a horrid performance. People like it, so the more exposure the better it goes.

Also it's not "slowing down" on radio. Every latest smash hits this point. Carly on the other hand will be done on Pop soon, so she won't be running ahead too fast for long.
