The 23-year-old actress just signed on the dotted lines with Hollywood Records for a recording deal.
“Lucy’s immense talent and passion for music make her a great fit for the label,” Ken Bunt, Executive Vice President of Disney Music Group shared in a statement. “We’re very excited to be working with her.”
“I’m overjoyed and honored to become a member of the Hollywood Records family,” Lucy added. “I’ve admired the careers they’ve made and can’t wait to see how my musical path is paved out. I’d just like to thank Ken Bunt and everyone involved for giving me the chance to show a whole different side of myself, which is a huge passion for music.”
Lucy credits Britney Spears‘s “Baby One More Time” video for sparking a serious interest in pursuing music.
But as a native of Memphis, Tenn., Lucy won’t be following in Brit‘s pop footsteps – she’s decided go with her country roots!
She’ll begin recording later this year with her album due out in 2013.
Lucy Hale is going to work with Sugarland and some producers Adele has woked with.

Lucy Hale is teaming up with Sugarland's vocalist Kristian Bush on her debut country album.
The Pretty Little Liars star signed a deal with Hollywood Records last month and will release a country album in 2013.
Hale is now recording and writing her album with Bush.
"We have a week off from [Pretty Little Liars] and I'm flying to Atlanta to write with Kristian Bush from Sugarland," Hale told MTV News.
"They're the biggest country band out there, and I don't even know how I got that. I don't even know! I got an email about it and it was obviously a no-brainer."
Hale also shared who else she hopes to work with on her album, such as the producers behind Adele's record 21.
She explained: "I think I'm working with some people who have worked with Adele, which is really cool, although she's not country.
"It's sort of a lot of writers and producers who don't do a lot of country, so it's going to be a good mixture. It's going to be interesting, in a good way!"
On a related note, once I saw that Bing commercial of her pretending to be recording in the studio, I knew a label announcement was coming. HWR is the obvious choice considering the ABC Family ties. Will Lucy be their first attempt at selling music?
