I saw this discussion on popjustice and we ought to have it too.

"This thread is about Global Radio, their artists (The Wanted, Cover Drive, Lawson), the politics, playlists, and general general goings on of this shady company. I don't know how popular this topic will be, and I'm no expert and don't know much about them and the industry, but Global are certainly big players in pop justice in the UK, so I think it's very relevant.

We have all seen their brattish behaviour towards One Direction, and their shunning of Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry shows the kind of influence they have. They have 20 million listeners in the UK and have 44% of the radio advert share."

It's interesting to consider that The Wanted are 1D's rivals. Global hate rivals to their artists. They apparently snubbed Joe McElderry because his album was out on the same day as the Wanted and didn't want the competition.

They seem to have more adverts than normal and they play the same artists again and again, even if it's a ****** third single. So it seems as though their favouritism is affecting their playlists, and that they think they're so influential they can play any **** and their listeners will swallow it.

As y'all know, this is a BIG industry wide problem. I think the UK should have US radio style updates, incremental launches, it would make the charts fairer and more fun. Radio 1 and Capital have too much power and they abuse it. I fear for any new artist as it's impossible to get played unless you have shady dealings with them...or you're an in house sex slave like Pixie Lott

Sis.RIP was listed. 'Nuff said . And Jessie was played a lot on both stations despite being a Katy Perry rip off. They're the most high profile UK cases. Alex was Capital's best mate before and now they hate her. She performed at all their events and now jack ****.

He apparently gave himself a £1,400,000 bonus last year, despite losses at the company, on top of a huge salary increase. So Alex did have a point when she mentioned Simon about her snub...Alex for 1D?
