The minor outrage over Queen Latifah not coming out despite her performing at a Pride Parade makes me wonder why people are blasting her for not coming out. It's great if someone wants to come out and they deserve be praised for being bold enough to go public with such a decision, but if they want to keep that info private for whatever reason, why can't that be respected? And considering that she performed at a gay pride parade, you can't really accuse her of not supporting the gay community.

Does the media make them feel like they're obligated? Yes.

Seeing as being gay is still viewed as something bad and something to be ashamed of, it makes perfect sense that theres some LGBT outrage when someone like anderson and latifah are pretty open about their sexuality but aren't publicly out.

But at the end of the day it's each individuals decision.
