The iconic music venue Hammersmith Apollo - currently known as HMV Hammersmith Apollo, is set to be sold to American-German company Stage C for a mere £32 million.
It is currently owned by HMV, which is currently facing major financial issues due to the decline in physical music sales. The venue, where the likes of Katy Perry, Adele, Jessie J and Avril Lavigne have performed - could now be renamed Stage C Hammersmith Apollo, or simply Hammersmith Apollo (its original name).
With a capacity of just over 5,000 (seated and standing), it is one of London's two legendary and prestigious mid-sized venues - the other being the Royal Albert Hall. Obviously The O2 Arena and Wembley Stadium are the biggies though.
