“She’s amazing, my boyfriend played me her remix of M83′s “Midnight City” and I was just wow-ed. I love her ethereal vibe and it’s a truly amazing cover. She’s definitely up there for me.”
2. Grimes
“I’ve been listening to a lot of Grimes. I think she’s great as well, we’ve done a couple of things together. She’s part of this ethereal, beautfiful side of pop that is coming out at the moment and she’s championing that. I think her visuals her really good and we share the same taste in music. We both secretly wanna be like rappers, we both wanna be Lil’ Wayne and she likes Mariah Carey who I have a lot of respect for.”
3. Blood Diamonds
“Another person who I like who is also part of the Montreal scene is Blood Diamonds. He sent me a couple of his songs and he makes really epic, future space epic-ness which you want to reference to witch house and stuff like that. It’s quite shiny… good shiny pop moments going on there.”
4. Britney Spears “I’ve been re-discovering her… is that alright? Hahaha. I’ve been checking out all the old records like Blackout and I really want her to come back soon. I’ve also been looking at all her old interviews from when she was younger and she just seems like a really nice person, I really imagine her like that. ‘Gimme More’ is such a jam.”
5. 50 Cent/Justin Timberlake
“Remember they did Ayo Technology. How much of a tune is that! I listened to it about ten times on the way down here. It’s so good! At the beginning when it’s like “So special… unforgettable”. That song is definitely unforgettable. I’d love to work with 50 Cent, I think he’s quite misunderstood.”
