Is it too early for Gaga's new lead single?
With rumours circulating stating that Lady Gaga is set to make a "huge announcement" in 4 days time, people on ATRL have been discussing what they think the announcement will be about. Some people are saying that it's probably about her new commercial, and others, think that it's about the lead single from Gaga's next album. With this news coming hours after the Twitter account @032886 (they've only tweeted twice, and the last time they tweeted they put out Born This Way lyrics "I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way," a week before Gaga sung them at the VMAs) tweeted new lyrics: "The truth is in my red lipstick,", fans have been discussing when they think the single could premiere. Some members still think that after 7 months of Gaga hiding from the GP, that it's still way too early for a lead single, with others arguing that right now is the perfect time for Gaga to debut a new single. So, what do you think? It is perfect timing for a brand new single release, or is it still way too soon?
Also take this into consideration, from Interscope's point of view: Gaga hasn't had a single that has done well WORLDWIDE, since last summer: The Edge of Glory. Y&I and Marry The Night underperformed worldwide. Gaga hasn't had a hit single in the US since last August/September, You & I, Marry The Night underperformed. She hasn't been prominent on the radio since last summer, it's not as if all 5 singles from BTW were radio hits and had crazy airplay either, so to the average person, she hasn't been around prominently in a while, so maybe June/July is perfect for a summer single.

It oddly feels like forever since she dropped a new single. I'm curious to hear the sound she'll have but it might be too soon.

It's too early.
Eminem and the Black Eyed Peas (both also signed to Interscope) both took three year breaks during 2006-2009, and returned as big as ever, both their comeback singles going straight to #1. And that was after 3 years.
Lady Gaga should do the same. She's iconic enough now to do it, if Eminem and the BEPs could. I hope not to have a new song from her until 2015.

It's still too early. Release it in September so she can premiere it at the VMAs and then release the album in November/December.
Perfect.

omg
I'm not sure. BTW seems like it was released ages ago and yet it's only been a year. I think sometime in August/Sept. wouldn't be so bad.

I don't want her to release a single this early into her tour.

too soon. I think she should do her tour and take as much time as possible to make really good music. Do y'all really want a rushed album? Or half assed album being made while she's tired on tour?
She's going to wear herself and the general public out on "Gaga" if she keeps going and going. I think if she took a year off after the tour, she would come back with the actual "album of the decade" or at least make it a contender.

Gaga came into conversation today with some people from school and someone actually said "she hasn't had a song out in ages."

No, it hasn't been that long since we've had new music from her. She can afford to wait some more before indulging her fans.

It's weird that the album came out just 1 year ago and it feels like was years without having new music from her
Anyway it's kind early since she just started touring but I'm fine if she releases her new single in august or something like that

She's been recording this album since last summer, so she's been recording at studios for about 10 months without being on tour.

It's been a year since she was even on radio prominently. It's about time.
