Is anyone else a little confused by this?

I'm a big Madonna fan, and in a thread asking if my "fave" has ever had three hits in the Top 50 simultaneously, I replied "I'm sure her Madgesty did it in the '80s".

I've received a warning point for this.

Now, I would understand if someone was posting things like "*******" or some other immature nickname (which people seem to think are hilarious), but as I said, I'm a huge fan of Madonna and I used the name only in the most complimentary way.

Totally agree. I've used nicknames before, but most have been with a positive connotation. Only if it was negative, I would understand.

I like the rule, to be honest. Nicknames, both positive and negative, are annoying in 99% of cases. It's also easier for the Mods to enforce a blanket ban on them rather than trying to figure out who stans for who and if the nickname is meant to be mean/insulting/used ironically as a hidden insult or made in lighthearted jest.

The best thing to do is go the Help option and send them a message and maybe they might reverse it for you
