So is it possible that the american idol producers or maybe even the Fox network doesn't want Kelly to appear on the show because of DUETS ?

Exactly. Which is very weird in my eyes why the taping was suddenly canceled.
Oh, I misread the cancellation part. It's probably because she's doing so much promo for 'Duets' rather her being banned from Idol -- which would be stupid on their part if that actually ever happened.
I just wish that performance was still happening because DS needs to smash and no one knows how Duets is going to perform just yet. ABC's other singing reality competition 'The One' flopped...hard.

And the tweets were in conjunction with the use of her music, which now that I think about it may have been before that particular commercial aired, but still, they obviously knew about the show at that point and my guess is that they knew about it when Kelly had been planning on appearing earlier.
What? She has a record contract with RCA for 6 albums. She just released her fifth so she has one more to go with them.
And there's no evidence yet showing that Kelly won't be on the finale of Idol. The only one I've seen confirmed is Rihanna so far and I believe Carrie said she was coming back for it. They usually have like 10 performances. Let's wait til after the finale and if she doesn't perform we can revisit this.
^Aerosmith was recently confirmed as well, and Jason Derulo. Although he may end up performing the night before like Taio Cruz did last year since they both have the same Coca Cola deal.

Yep. They covered WDKY and DYWS on Idol after Duets was announced. Also, people forget Kelly still works with Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol. He knew about Duets before any of us ever did, since she'd need her label's permission. That 19 Recording you see on her cd's is Fuller.

Wasn't the cancelled event BEFORE the commercial premiered? I don't see how that's relevant to it. PLUS they allowed 4 contestants to singe duets to two Kelly Clarkson songs not too long ago. I doubt she's banned.
