Just because it's true doesn't mean they need to say it. They aren't huge stars that are free from public backlash, they are still trying to make it in the music industry, and the way to do that is not to bash other, more successful and influential, artists.
Part of being a celebrity is keeping it cute for the public eye (unless you're someone like P!nk... which, they aren't), so if they want to be celebrities, they're going to have to learn that they can't taddle on every celebrity who doesn't shower them with love.
