Basically, supaspaz said that all of the new #1s have had television to propel them to #1 (Stronger - commercial, We Are Young - Glee, commercial, Somebody that I Used to Know - Glee, SNL, etc.)

*Of course, MTV isn't as popular as NBC, FOX or other later accessible channels, but IMO it is still a nice way to get music out there.

Television is the best way to get music out there. I bet you more people watch television than go on iTunes. Using television to get people onto iTunes or whatever else is a powerful tool for the economy & the exposure of music.

Remember when MTV was a music channel? The channel that used to be revolutionary? This is why I'm so angry with them. They still host the VMAs yet never play music videos themselves, instead focusing on Jersey Shore. Playing music videos on television was such a powerful tool.

We need music videos on television too, in reasonable time slots! A new channel (*cough *cough* VEVO *cough*) perhaps.

MTV is really more of a reality tv channel now. I see more music videos on E! and Bravo! tbqh...

A VEVO channel would be MASSIVE and amazing. Such a smart idea.

And what's the point of watching music videos on television when you can go to YouTube and watch your favorite videos anytime you want for however long you want?

E! should play music videos from 8-11 before E! news in the mornings.

Nobody would watch. Everyone has a computer. Why wait to see your favorite video when you can just click two buttons on your phone or comp and have it right there whenever you want.

They need to cancel Jersey Shore and 16 & Pregnant and bring back Making of the Video and MTV Diary. And of course, bring back TRL but with a new name.

Vevo Channel sounds like a good marketing deal and a good deal for viewers. Win win

Platforms like Glee/SNL/Idol & TV spots/commercials aren't comparable at all to something like MTV. People see videos online now, anytime they want, while that casual exposure is much stronger to people who aren't regularly buying songs.

A lot of people still watch television. It's just such a part of our lives now we don't even realize it.

Yeah, but it would still be nice to see your favorite songs on television. It was about the experience of watching it like that on a big screen.

MTV could do a little hour at like 4-5 playing music videos.
BET and MTV need to bring back their behind the scene of the Music video specials like "Access Granted." So many songs would blow up because of the TV support.

U never know, Diddy's upcoming channel maybe something big. lol
