What's Lionel got to do with Madonna?
Although she will have sold as much (or more) CD's for a three week total, what Richie catching up to her total should tell Madonna is that her manager is not doing a good job in terms of promo with her album.
Lionel got that on promo. Greatest Hits + Great Promo = winning combination. He was going to sell just 45,000 without that. He was on CBS for 2 hours on Friday with the country people from his album and his CD shot up from #25ish to #1 and stayed there all weekend on iTunes. His old CD's (Greatest Hits minus Country) and some of the CD's of the country folks he sung with entered the Top 20 too.
