Agreed to be honest. Rihanna, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Ashanti, all of these gurls would not have the success they have had if she was still here

Aaliyah would've been especially huge during 2006/2007 time especially imo, with how popular Timbaland and Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake were then. That was the time when lots of songs were mixing RnB, dance, hip hop and electro. I think Aaliyah would've fitted perfectly then. I'm not sure how she'd be doing at the moment though. She'd have struggled in 2011 if she didn't do pure electropop, but urban music is making a bit of a comeback now so I think she'd've been okay.

Why ?

She would have been better. She was beautiful and talented.

So where does that leave Ashanti, Mya and Ciara? Would they all be slaying together, or would they have still been left in the dust? And her peers, Monica and Brandy?

Yeah right. She honestly was starting to fade already before her death. Weren't the singles from the Aaliyah album not doing too hot while she was still living? She was definitely beautiful and was talented, but people tend to exaggerate where she would of been today just because of her untimely death.

She could have been huge because she was Timbaland muse before Nelly furtado.I agree,Timbaland was on fire,he had hits for everybody in 2006/2007 so I am sure she could have been extremely successfull.

No disrespect to aaliyah but "try again" was the only song of hers i've ever actually liked. Beyonce had the beauty, talent (she's more talented), performing skills, AND music.

Exactly. People just like to over-exaggerate her because she passed. And that is not right.

Why do people do this?

There's no telling how big she would have been. None of us can say.

Just respect the success she accomplished while she was here and keep it moving.
