Attending the 2012 Kids Choice Awards this past Saturday, March 31st, rapper Nicki Minaj had some not so kind words to say about pop superstar Lady Gaga. Minaj was not nominated for any of the Kids Choice blimps, however she made quite a splash on the orange carpet with her colorful dress arrangement. She recently made headlines for her shocking, controversial performance at this year's GRAMMY Awards which involved an on-screen exorcism.
The rapper was supposedly innundated with so many questions about Gaga while at the Kids Choice Awards due to her outfit - and was even mistakenly accused of being Gaga at several points during the telecast. After the ceremony had attended, sources tell E! that Nicki was explaining to her crew how she is "tired of people bringing up that hasbeen" and that she is "her own artist with her own sound". She also stated that she is not just a "copycat" like Lady Gaga has copied so many others.
Despite these alleged comments, the "Starships" singer had a blast at the Kids Choice Awards. When interviwed at the post-telecast, she said it was great to see all the kids and that she enjoyed fellow popstar Katy Perry's electrifying performance. "I love kids so much, their energy is amazing" said Minaj. She was also disappointed that she didn't get slimed, but she said there is always next year!
Nicki's new album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" hits shelves this Tuesday, April 3rd.
