Twitter is great for promotion, you just need to have a thick skin. It's no different from the rest of the internet in the sense that people say ridiculous **** they don't really mean.
Twitter doesn't start those things, it only makes 95% of that hatred - or internal thoughts - public.
I rather interact with my fav (no matter how immature ~some~ may be, or robotic ~others~ may be) - then have to wait every year just for an interview or award show to see/hear from my favorite people.

There are ridiculous comments all over the Internet but Twitter is like the center of it all.
Twitter is a great public diary in many cases, and despite cringeworthy TT's like "#HowToGetUrDickSucked" "#MonstersLoveGaGa" "GodneyAndAngels" - it does far more good than bad.
Twitter is just... interesting. It's a lot more fun than facebook, as in there are a lot of crazy entertaining people. Facebook is full of ****s cam whoring.
It seems like people can get nasty.
Altough, I like it. Better than Facebook.
I have neither, but on the outside looking in, Facebook just seems stupid how people talk like they are illiterate, post pictures where they think they look hot and have 1,000 friends.
I mean come on. Do they honestly like that entire thousand?
Twitter is just more interactive and funny.
Like you can retweet celebrities and generally anything that made you feel something.
With Facebook, you could look like a creep if you talk to people that don't know you.
I guess Facebook is more formal/realistic in that sense.
