The Young Money star, who announced a string of UK tour dates earlier this week, has told Complex magazine: "My goal the whole time has been for people to see me as a stand-alone artist.

"I came out with Young Money, the biggest hip hop label in the world at that time. And then it was, 'How do I branch away from Lil Wayne?' One of my biggest records was with Drake, 'Moment 4 Life'.

"Even with the Super Bowl, it's Madonna's moment. I'm just sharing in that moment. It's not Nicki Minaj's moment. Nicki Minaj at the Grammys - that's my moment. I've just been constantly on this quest to stand alone."

When asked about her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, the 29-year old refused to go into detail, stating: "People keep asking me to kinda like dissect Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and what it's gonna be and I'll never do that.

"You guys are gonna get the full composition and you're gonna hear it and feel it and it's gonna move you. Roman Reloaded is me in every sense of the word. I mean, every song makes me excited."

She continued: "The only thing that keeps my attention is change. I can't do an entire album with one kind of song, I can't talk about one thing only. I can't even wear the same hair every day.

"I didn't really know that me doing different kinds of music would be embraced by the public. I always thought that, well you know, I could write pop songs for someone else or I could write R&B records for someone else but I didn't think people would accept me writing those kinds of songs and me singing them, and just being who I am.

"I think the goal is to not want their acceptance. The goal is to just do 'you' and they'll come around."

As well as discussing her sophomore LP, Nicki has also confirmed that her collaboration with Chris Brown, entitled Right By My Side, will be her new single.

People here in Europe barely know her collabs on other songs. If you say Nicki Minaj they say "Super Bass".

She needs to release quality music whether it pop or hip hop.

But most of her well known songs have features on them, hell most of PPRR hip hop songs have features on them and her pop records sound too similar, it almost sound like one is listening to the same song.
