Oprah Winfrey sees Lady Gaga carrying her baton
Quote:
“Oprah’s Next Chapter” aired yesterday, March 18th, during which talk show legend, Oprah Winfrey did an in-depth interview with Lady Gaga, and for the first time ever, Gaga’s mother, Cynthia. During the interview Oprah paid Gaga a HUGE compliment in describing her realization, as if to pass off a philanthropic baton. She said:
“You know what I felt? I felt, you and I are just getting to know each other, but I felt a sense of sisterhood and mothering toward you. I felt that I have tried to use my platform all these years for something that was greater than myself as a force for good. And I not only watched you, I really SAW you. I saw you on that stage. I saw who you were and who you are and who you are becoming in the world, in a way that, it felt like EVERYTHING that I’ve ever done has now been ELEVATED and passed on to you, to be used in your own way. That’s what it felt like.”
“I get teared up thinking about it. Because I thought, wow, here’s somebody and over the years, as you know, I’ve interviewed thousands of people. I know countless numbers of celebrities. But to be in the presence of someone who is as young as you are, and who absolutely gets it, who absolutely gets it, was a real HONOR for me."
