Timing. Had it been released instead of Judas or as a single after the album release, I think it might have fared better. 2.5M seems rather low for a song like that.

I think it is because it had very disappointing video, and with that kind of song, you could've easily get really epic and emotional music video. If she made that video about her grandpa it would've been amazing. It is an amazing song, despite the fact that I'm starting to really hate I, V, vi, IV chord progression since everyone uses it...

I think the bits she filmed were good, but it was that it was JUST those shots. I mean, if they were interspersed with the planned hospital/bridge scenes...

I don't agree with any of the following. It always felt like the public latched onto it because they needed a Gaga single to play and this one was inoffensive enough to work for a long period of time. But it has nothing on most of her material. Her singles this era were just really poor overall and the ones that were exceptional (Marry The Night and Judas) weren't received favorably. This song was bland enough to get by.

Poker Face, LoveGame, Alejandro, Bad Romance, Paparazzi maybe even Telephone were all better then Edge Of Glory was.
