I would say that percentage is lower in recent years. It's easier for an artist to chart more now because of the digital age.

So, this is basically about debut artists who only charted once, even if the peak if below 40? Interesting. They should do one for top 40.

No one's really a one-hit wonder nowadays.

Interesting statistic, but I wonder if it's not a little misleading. There are probably artists whose follow-up singles couldn't chart because of prior Hot 100 rules about airplay-only songs, or who have had healthy genre careers but only got that one crossover hit.
