Moderators started closing them because some of them were like "responsible" for slowing site down but then again you have SYG and NHB with billion posts...why not close them and open new ones?
In my opinion its quite ridiculous being allowed to open them month prior release and then again close them some months later while era's are still fresh and going on.
Also its definitely not the same post in Base and Music News.Everything seems kinda dull and messy.
I think album threads should be allowed to be opened 2-3 months prior and closed when the era is done. Then when the artist is in their down time all off topic discussion would be in the base thread. But who am I.
It feels like this forum's now for Stans, not fans of music.
I feel the opposite. I think those album threads were so clique-ish (no relation) and very unwelcoming to casual posters. Now that there are bases, I don't feel weird strolling into one every now and then. If anything, I didn't like Music News

I see your point.
I can see there's an album thread for Roman Reloaded and for me that's handy to quick information on what's going on. I don't think Album threads should be open for months and months, but at least leading up to the release and a month after.
I don't know whether that's what happens now, I haven't signed in much since the forum changed
