Adele's '21' 5th top seller of Canadian SoundScan era
Billboard:
Adele’s “21” (Beggars Group) remains at No. 1 on the Top Albums chart for the 32nd non-consecutive week, with 23,000 copies sold. The album has now reached 1.13 million sales, and jumps over Andrea Bocelli’s “Romanza” as the fifth
best selling album in the Nielsen SoundScan era.
Who'd be above her then?
Shania Twain - Come On Over
Celine Dion - Let's Talk About Love
Alanis Morrissette - Jagged Little Pill

Diamond is 800K there now, but it'd be diamond under the old version of certification requirements.

Just looked it up online, from the 2009 Nielsen Soundscan Year End Report:
BEST SELLING ALBUMS
(from 1995 - 1/3/2010)
1 Come On Over / Shania Twain - 1,926,000
2 Let’s Talk About Love / Celine Dion - 1,490,000
3 Big Shiny Tunes 2 / Various Artists - 1,233,000
4 Romanza / Andrea Bocelli - 1,123,000
5 Beatles 1 / Beatles - 1,103,000
6 Up! / Shania Twain - 1,092,000
7 Aquarium / Aqua - 1,086,000
8 Surfacing / Sarah McLachlan - 1,076,000
9 Millennium / Backstreet Boys - 1,073,000
10 Backstreet’s Back / Backstreet Boys - 1,048,000
Shania must be at 1.93 million at this point and Celine near 1.5 million.

It'll either peak at #3 or even #2, which is absolutely insane.

I was wondering this before as well but as it turns out Canada's Soundscan era didn't begin until 1995 and I guess it must've been brought in after June when JLP dropped. So weird that she sold so much and the bulk of her sales took place in Soundscan but the release date keeps it from making the list.

Yep. Shania's "The Woman In Me" should be in that top 10 too, it was a MASSIVE seller in Canada as well. Same with Celine's "Falling Into You".

According to that list, she should be 4th, not 5th?

Which makes 21 the best-selling album by a non-Canadian. Amazing!

Always risky writing this album off. The way it's continuing to sell in such high weekly numbers rules nothing out in my book.
Ps Isn't it 4th best selling if it's jumped ahead of Bocelli?

Since that list is from the 2009 Soundscan report I'm guessing The Beatles "1" probably is #4 by now.

Ah, I guess that makes sense.
PS '21' sold 23k in Canada last week. In March. In its 54th week. That list could get very interesting come the end of this year....42 weeks remaining?

I think it could go #2 or #3 but I doubt #1...
