"The X Factor" U.S. judge Antonio "L.A." Reid, who is chairman/CEO of Epic Records, has spoken out about the former "X Factor" U.S. contestants whom he signed to Epic.
They are:
Melanie Amaro, 19, winner of "The X Factor" U.S. in 2011
Chris Rene, 29, who came in third place on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2011
Marcus Canty, 21, who came in fourth place on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2011
Astro, 15, who came in seventh place on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2011
Canty's publicist at Epic Records told me that Canty's first single is “Won’t Make a Fool Out of You," which will be released as part of the “Think Like a Man” movie soundtrack on Epic Records. The single will be released to U.S. radio in March 2012.
The release date for the "Think Like a Man" soundtrack is to be announced, but the movie is due to be released in U.S. cinemas on April 20, 2012.
As previously reported, Canty is working on his Epic Records debut album with producer/songwriter/engineer Kuk Harrell.
