But she'll never have a career releasing songs like that. Although it would be good to get a US hit and then release her Boys & Girls, Turn it Up stuff. They would be more likely to be hits then.
At this stage, I can honestly never see her making it in the US. As much as I love her and the music, she is very limited in what she does. Her most current music is not distinctive enough to gain her credible attention. Also, her live performances are very mediocre. She can sing, but there's not much to it. Just watch her recent performances on televised shows in the UK. She just stands at the microphone and not much else. If she wants to make it in America, her image and performances need some polishing up.
I think she can definitely make it. There are no albums out right now like YFH/Turn It Up. Her recent performances are bad because she doesn't go with electro at all, What Do You Take Me For is what she needs to go with.
Looking back at her in the 'Turn It Up' days, I would of certainly said she could make it. She had everything then. The whole package. 'Young Foolish Happy' is a great album, but it's been handled very poorly. The singles haven't really been the best choices either. If she's struggling in the UK then I don't know how she could turn it around for the US. WDYTMF does show some appeal though. It brings back some of those urban-pop flavours that were big a few years ago. She'll probably learn from all of this and record something new though. I hope.
Totally agree, Turn It Up was an almost-perfect album and was handled brilliantly. The re-release got a little messy, and this era has been a disaster. But I think that Pixie is very aware (the Kiss The Stars video was giving me Turn It Up teas even if it was a bad video), and her label probably is as well. I think they need to carefully plan her next album and release it to the UK early next year and then think about taking it to America, but if they are going to do it now it should be WDYTMF imo. We'll just have to see how it all pans out, I guess.
Turn vituperation wasperfect to release it in the states. All her singles were amazing and they could've done great especially on the AC/HAC. Charts...good luck tho what's her label?

No. I'm on the us and tbh I don't really think that would be a hit here. If anything she has a chance with AAT. The US is all about generic dance songs ATM.
Well, they're the safest choices at the moment. I would've loved What Do You Take Me For? it has Pusha T so it could give her that extra push in the States. But out of KTS & AAT, I see All About Tonight being a bigger hit. I love KTS more tho. Boys & Girls could have been a great choice as well.
