Celeb News: Lead for The Carrie Diaries pilot casted

Based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, "Carrie Diaries" revolves around a young Carrie Bradshaw as she comes of age in the 1980s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.

Fake Empire's Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Len Goldstein ("Gossip Girl," "Hart of Dixie") will executive produce alongside Warner Bros. Television. Former "Sex and the City" scribe/co-producer Amy B. Harris will adapt the book and serve as showrunner. Miguel Arteta will direct the pilot.

Um, I don't see this show lasting very long. Sex And The City was a sexually charge dramedy. This upcoming G-rated prequel, won't work well with audiences that loved the HBO series. Sex and The City was a quirky series, which had multiple continuing storylines that tackled relevant and modern social issues like sexuality, promiscuity, and femininity while exploring the difference between friendships and relationships. Something that the CW, won't be able to deliver to its core audience.

This whole concept is SO stupid and infuriates me. Sex and the City is a PERFECT show. It's like making a prequal to Friends, before they were friends, with different actors. Just a horrendous idea. The thing that really sucks is I know it's going to be a hit, too.Sigh.

Yeah, this. It'll be the writers from like 90210 and Gossip Girl. In other words, not writers. SATC is one of the best written shows.
