Also, I was talking about this with a waitress the other day. I asked my friend how did she like working at a restaurant, and she said the pros and cons were:
Pros:- Tips
- Sometimes you get to leave home really early
Cons:- You only get the "big tips" when you work at night time - no time to go out since they close late on weekends
- If you work at lunch time, 90% chance of the time they send you home thirty minutes within your shift because it's dead
- Leaving home too early (for some people)
- The minimum wage is less since you make tips
- Tipping out (mandatory)
So, when I was at the restaurant I was talking to the waitress. I asked her how she liked it, because I'm considering working there, and I asked if she could confirm if everything my friend said is true. She said yep. She said most of the time when she comes to work at lunch time, they send her home within thirty minutes because it's dead, no point being overstaff. I would be PISSED if they sent me home after working thirty minutes, because me getting up, getting ready, commuting takes longer than that.
