With the recent rise of boy bands like Big Bang (South Korean), One Direction (British-Irish) and The Wanted (British-Irish), is it time for the biggest music market in the world to respond with a product of its own?
Even the biggest male pop star in the world, Justin Bieber, is Canadian (though, to be fair, he was taken under the wing of the US recording industry early on).
So, is it time? After all, this is the country that brought the manufactured boy band to the forefront of 90s pop culture.
Well... Big Time Rush is pretty much the US manufactured boy band at the moment. Although they haven't reached extreme success their show does well and their first record went gold. They have a pretty sold fan base but they haven't reached extreme success. (I personally love them though )
