This is something that's been on my mind for a while and it's something that I feel needs to be said, somewhere.

Dear Lady Gaga,

We never intended for you to become the leader of the gay rights movement. In fact, most of us don't even want you to be the "leader." We're not saying that you're a bad person or anything, you're just a little ridiculous. You support stereotypes and it's almost like you don't believe that there are non-flamboyant gay people in this world. And it's kind of really unfair that you took this position without consulting us first, don't you think? I understand that you're the only big popstar around who constantly supports gay people, but it's only doing us harm. You also seem to support high school students more than adults who, if they're broken, need considerably more help than impressionable teenagers. Now, is this all your fault? No, of course it isn't. But you are such a big star that anything you say involving us ends up reflecting on us. All most (or maybe some, or maybe even few) of us want is for you to stop acting like you are the leader of this group, of this movement.

I don't think Gaga has ever referred to herself as the leader of the Gay Rights movement nor does she only cater to gay stereotypes.

How about you write an open letter to closeted politicians who vote for anti-gay legislation?

THAT'S doing harm to the gay community. We get it - Gaga doesn't speak for you. She never claimed she did; nor did she ever claim she's "our leader."

If you have a problem, take it up with the media; or with gay organizations awarding her for her advocacy.

This could have been a blog. I do concur she supports stereotypes. I'm a big fan of Gaga but sometimes I feel like her and the gay community is too much. I believe she is honest in her fight for equality but sometimes she comes off very contrived. I did hate when Obama called her the "leader" of the gay community.

Has she ever said she was your leader though? People just make that assumption
