Taylor visited the Ronald Mcdonald House following her Billboard Women of the Year luncheon. She basically called up, said she wanted to meet the kids and take pictures, but NO publicity about it. Took pics and signed autograph for every single kid who wanted. Broke out the guitar, sang about 6-7 songs and quietly left says Robbie Bryan.

“If you have access to Facebook, I hope you can visit Brooke’s Blossoms page and see a photo there. I posted one of when the singer Taylor Swift came to the RMH and before Brooke would let her have a hug, she first wanted Taylor to be aware of the needle in her chest port. It was a moment that caught everyone off guard, including Taylor I think, and one of the employees of the RMH snapped a photo of the moment. It is an emotional picture for me because I know how intimate Brooke is about her port, and I am not sure Taylor Swift expected to see it either. It is a compassionate photo full of innocence in the unexpected.” -Brooke’s mom.

Brooke`s mum again:
Brooke was really befriended by Taylor Swift and she is an amazing human being. Yes, the RMH employees took all the photos, EXCEPT the video Taylor made with Brooke on her new iPad from our hometown Harrel’s Pharmacy friends. It was very, very, VERY special to say the least. If you look closely at the photos you will notice a transition too, in the pink blossom as it went from Brooke to Taylor. It was Brooke’s favorite blossom from Sunnie Jo, and she wanted Taylor to have it, so she immediately put it on and then Taylor not only wore it for Brooke but kindly allowed Brooke and other children both with and without hair to play with her own…
We know that last October, Taylor was visited by a mother we know who lost her son to the same kind of cancer Brooke has, and we know they had a special conversation about childhood cancer. It must have left an impact on Taylor’s heart, and now it has left it on ours forever. She not only sang songs to the kids on her personal, songwriting guitar… and interacted with each of them… I honestly don’t think she wanted to leave!
I can’t tell you about the hospital that day, or the tears, but I can tell you about the joy of the afternoon for my daughter who has no choice right now but to be treated here in NYC over 1,600 miles away from her Texas home and Daddy since last May. Special memories of a memorable day! PLEASE keep visiting Brooke’s Blossoms on Facebook to see what Brooke is doing in her “free” time between her cancer treatments.
Taylor Swift cares…. we know you do too!!
This happened in Dec. 2011 and it only came out now through social media because the workers from the treatment center talked about it. Taylor is such a sweetheart.
