This is really hard.

I voted, but as you can see, I'm totally biased.

I think both of those songs are in their own way representative of their respective discographies. I mean, there cannot be a Madonna concert without "Ray Of Light", as well as you cannot see Cher and not have "Believe". Both of them did the job of reinventing them and reintroducing them to the mainstream audience.

It is indeed hard to choose. However, "Ray of Light" is closer to my (musical) heart.

ROF is my favourite song from Madonna, so I voted for ROF.

Ray of Light.

Ray of Light is much better, but Believe is more iconic. I'm not voting.

EDIT: I go with Believe. It's Cher's career defining song, while Ray of Light remains as just another hit by Madonna. I still perfer ROL, though.

It's curious. I think quite the opposite.

In my opinion, Ray of Light put Madonna up there with the greats, it showed as a real, talented musician. Believe is indeed a classic hit and it gave Cher her first and only Grammy, but to me, she has bigger and more iconic hits ("If I Could Turn Back Time" immediately comes to mind).

Believe. Though I LOVED Ray of Light a year ago, now it doesn't move me as much anymore.

ROL is iconic and one of the best songs recorded ever in mainstream pop music.

Believe is a super mega hit, a super popular song, not as good as rol but definetly a lot catchier.

ROL is one of worst Madonna's songs and it's really but really overrated, in other hand Believe is amazing and epic, you can listen it now and it still sounds fresh
