Music News: Grooveshark sued by all 4 major labels

So, what does Grooveshark do in light of all this? It circumvents Apple and releases an iOS-compatible version. By assigning a homescreen bookmark to html5.grooveshark.com, iPhone and other users can essentially install the service as a native app.

To some, Grooveshark is a free, ad-supported music service with millions of songs for sharing and streaming, which has legal protection under the DMCA. To others, it's one of the biggest scourges on the music industry.

The one thing both sides should agree on: in taking on all four major labels, Apple, and Google, Grooveshark sure has guts.

Oh well. I have an account there but it's usually just for scrubs who refuse to purchase their music and will settle for something barely above watching YouTube videos.

aw I used grooveshark a lot some years ago.

I use Grooveshark only because it scrobbles in Last.Fm

It's the same thing that listening a song on YouTube, so I don't see what's wrong with that.

Youtube pays the copyright holders money for songs on Youtube.
Grooveshark doesn't pay.

It's like setting up a a movie website to stream any movies you want. Get ad revenue and subscription revenue in return but pay nothing for these movies.
