This thread will probably get shut down, but what has happened to ATRL??
Why do the mods feel the need to ban members left right and centre who have done nothing wrong, close so many of the album threads due to "general discussion" about the artist, whats wrong with that, who were they hurting.
Plus shutting down threads like Irrelevants Unite and Dirty Talk (NSFW), if you don't like them, don't post in them,

Don't know, but yeah this will be closed soon..dunno it's just not the same anymore but ATRL went down hill in 2009.

Its just a shame, i felt like the album threads were the stanbased HOME, and i KNOW we have base now, but it was perfect having all your fellow stand and any album news in one place, it actually felt like home

I think they're intentionally trying to make ATRL dull so only the main posters will stay and free up the forum.

Honestly, I think it's fine. The Base threads can be used exactly the same as album threads. You can still post updates there if you want to and also have general discussion about your artists. I think it's better, in fact, because stanning is acceptable there and you don't have to risk going off-topic and getting warned in an album thread. I think some people just don't like adjusting to change, and would prefer everything to go their own way, but ATRL has to evolve as a site...

It was hard enough tracking down news in the album threads for the bigger pop girls, now it's going to be impossible with the base threads. Especially since the people so desperate to be the thread starters are never the ones who update the OP.

I don't expect us to enforce the rules in the single threads so strictly that ONLY stuff about that song can be posted there. For example, I would think it's perfectly fine if people start discussing what the next single should or will be in the old single thread, including any rumors. I also don't see any problem with posting album sales in the single thread, as that single might have boosted them, so it would be relevant.

So in that sense the content of the single threads really won't be that much different from how it was before in the album threads. The main reason for the change was to emphasize the news in Music News. It didn't make sense to enter a forum with that name and half of the threads were albums released a year ago. This way its appearance will be more current and fresh.

I lurked here since 2008, around the time when The Fame leaked. I think the problem is that atrl is seperating members too much through these bases. The bases are very messy and only the bases from the pop-girls won't die. The restriction of the album threads also aren't a good idea imo. I'll still come here w/e happens though.
