I think it's too generic. Though a lot generic songs (more than this) are smashing right now.

People using the word generic is generic. I wish it would stop.

Anyways I don't know how this performed on the charts, but this was absolutely huge in my vicinity. I couldn't escape this song so it's a hit to me. Plus i really enjoy the song.

Here both of them smashed really hard, you could hear them daily on the subway.

in the dark was a decent sized hit. it peaked at #11 (thanks to mr. know it all...)

but take over control and mr. saxobeat totally underperformed. stereo love too.

They were both pretty ubiquitous.

I think the rest of the country - aka not LA or NYC - is more resistant to take on "dance" songs if they're not fronted by big artists. If this song had been done by Katy or Rihanna, it would have gone to number one. Same thing with In the Dark and Mr. Saxobeat.
