Police stop gay couple walking on Christmas night. After failing to show their IDs (which they didn't have), they are maced and one of the men is hit by a car while being placed under arrest in the road. That young man is now in critical condition.

The police were harassing them to begin with. They had NO reason to stop them and start asking them their life stories. It's Christmas, take your asses home and stop harassing happy couples because your life is ****.

The mess started from the law that allow someone to go around asking for people's IDs.

simmer down people. these guys weren't following the law. obviously he shouldn't of gotten hit by a car, but it has nothing to do with them being gay.

I ain't reading the whole story since that site's user interface is horrid but from what I'm getting from the OP, them being gay has nothing to do with the accident.

I came her expecting the police hit them.

It's a vicious circle. Lack of respect for police officers causes incidents like these. But incidents like these are why people don't respect police officers. The story is not clear enough, but it seems everyone was overreacting that day.

I hope the guy survives.
