The Most Overplayed Songs of 2011 - Hollywire

While we seriously loved all the music our fave artists put out in 2011, the radio un-arguably overplayed a ton of the top tunes. Since 2012 is just DAYS away, we thought it would be best to compile a list of the MOST overplayed songs of the year. (Drum roll please...)
1. Adele - Rolling In The Deep
Honestly, Adele can do no wrong -- so it's no wonder her song was the most overplayed song on the radio this year. We can't complain
. We just hope 2012 is filled with as much Adele as 2011 was. Can I get an AMEN?
2. Katy Perry - Firework
Ok, we get it. Katy Perry writes catchy, fun, pop tunes. For reals though... this song was played way too much (as were her other tunes)
and by year's end, they all started sounding the same. Baby you're a Fireworkkkkk... last Friday night. Kiss me -- ki-ki-kiss me.
3. Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks
Mark Foster & gang put out one of the best albums of the year -- no doubt about it! In Fact, Torches is still played on our iPod, but really?
Everytime this song came on the radio we HAD to change stations. It was just WAY. TOO. MUCH. New FTP music in 2012 -- please!
4. Bruno Mars - Grenade
Bruno Mars' voice is angelic, we would never argue that. This song though.... I mean, would he really actually catch a grenade for someone? It's a cute concept, sure.
But the cuteness began fading away sometime in October 2011. NEXT!
5. The Band Perry - If I Die Young
If these adorbs brothers & sisters want to stick around, they need a NEW song that is just as sweet & catchy as If I Die Young -- and STAT. Every award show they played this year, they played the same darn song. We get it, it's a good song... but don't you have any OTHER good songs in your catalog?
Honestly, we started referring to them as If I Die Young instead of The Band Perry. Yikes.
6. Pitbull ft. Neyo - Give Me Everything
I'm just going to say that I hope this song gets as much play in 2012 as it did this year. It's too perfect. Sorry, I'm not sorry.
7. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
LMFAO is fun.... they like to party, they like girls, they're sexy (and we know it) and they go to clubs. It's a good song, but
I don't need to hear it THAT much outside of a club or a party.
8. Lady Gaga - Edge of Glory
Lady Gaga's lastest album just wasn't up to par with her older tunes.
This song got REAL old REAL fast. New Gaga music, pretty please!
9. Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger
Adam Levine could sing the telephone book and we'd probably be satisfied. So, while this song was definitely outplayed this year --
we don't actually mind.
10. Rihanna - We Found Love
Ri-Ri's new album is beyond phenomenal. This song is brilliant (plus, we love Calvin Harris). We're ready for Where Have You Been, Talk That Talk or Red Lipstick to get their time in the sun though. Too many amazing songs, not enough time!

The Edge of Glory? Really? It wasn't played enough to be honest
