I've always said Janet could sing, she just doesn't have a powerful voice that we associate with a "real singer" a lot of the times. Janet has a nice angelic pure voice that is really calming to listen to. It's not really about the power all the time. Plus, Janet knows her voice and her limits. She has really good control.
