Couldn't find an open thread discussing the latest season of Dexter.

I'm wondering what you girls think about the season, especially in terms how this season was different, similar, better, worse, etc.

Personally I think it started off sprinting, and by the 3rd or 4th episode, I was really excited that this was going to be the best season yet. Then it slowed down and wasn't as appealing. To me, the writing seemed different. It felt like there was a lot of filler in between the episodes. In quite a few scenes with Mos Def and Dexter, there were a few scenes that just went on for EVER, with seemingly no point (The scene I'm thinking of in particular was in the hospital scene when Harrison was sick, it had too much fluff). I think the plot was a bit silly too (in some spots). When Travis was revealed to be crazy (schizophrenic) and talking to his dark passenger Geller, I was like ........

I also don't really like the way they handled Deb this season. Usually she's the queen of the one-liners, and she definitely had a TON of hilarious things to say. But I especially don't like how they handled the last episodes of where she was talking to her therapist. I'm all for some Freudian ****, but come on.

I just watched the finale today. And I'm really excited for the next season. What are your thoughts for the upcoming season? Is Debra going to bring out a gun on Dex and confront him? Is she going to turn him in? I imagine she's going to have a lot of profanity and Dex will awkwardly answer her many questions (like he usually does).

Overall, not my favorite season. I think #2 was my favorite. We got the comedic genius of Deb AND Doakes. So great.

I agree. This wasn't the best season though I like this one better than season 3.

This season was ****, but maybe that's just because I've been forced to watch it after the amazing Homeland. Colin Hanks was comical, the huge twist of Gellar being inside Travis's head was blatantly obvious, and yeah, Deb was handled poorly for the most part. I've never seen as many plot holes in one episode of television as I did in the season finale. I wish Deb didn't find out about Dexter in the finale so I could pretend the season never happened.

The show needs to stop trying to top itself, but that's what happens when you get rid of the primary antagonist in season 2. I'm still going to watch it, just to see how it's all going to go down, but I was thoroughly disappointed in this season.

This season was horrible

I thought this season was actually scary. The cute nerdy game-maker guy totally creeped me the **** OUT when he invited Bautista's sister over to his house. He just had that creepy "i'm-a-serial-killer" vibe. I was waiting for him to kill her, but that's probably gonna happen next season

Usually I like Dexter for the suspense/comedy, not the (horror?)

Dexter seems like a bad father this season.

I am one of the biggest fans of the show and ive read the books which are completely different from the show but really good and i must say this season had the potential to become the best but the writers were juggling too many stories at once. I loved the part that gellar was inside travis' head, i think it brought some interest to the show and mos def was a good character. Besides the last scene of the finale, this finally was the worst.

No season will ever top season 4 with trinity and the first season is another fave.

4> 1 >2 >5 >6 >3

My fave seasons are 2>4>1>6>3>5.
I didn't really like numbers 3 and 5, although I'm only basing that on the plot that the seasons had. I thought #3's was good, but I just didn't like the season. And #5 was a bit tooooooooooo much. A roadkill cleaner, dentist, help-yourself inventor, and his bodyguard all in on some sham to rape women and kill them, then stuff their bodies in CH2O (FORMALDEHYDE!?) That's a bit crazy. Also I don't think Julia Stiles (Lumen) is that great of an actor.

It had its moments but overall it was the weakest so far.

I thought this season started strong, but boy didn't it drag. And the whole Deb is in love with Dexter storyline..

Thank God (no pun intended) for the last minute, I've been wanting for that to happen for a very long time now. Can't wait to see what's gonna happen next.

This show needs to end. Two more seasons is just a horrible idea.

Overall, the season was pretty predictable , the whole Deb-Dexter love situation and Travis was "weak".
Can't wait for 7th Season

I Like the season, it was flat throughout but ended on a high note and I loved with what they did with Professor Gellar (with him being dead the whole time). Also, I think that some of you guys are expecting a bit too much.

Season 2 was the best

And the Lumen character was so boring, I'd take Rita over her any day.

FINALLY got around to watching the finale. Holy ****.

This remains the BEST show on television.

Personally, I loved this season. The concept of apocalypse has always intrigued me, especially the Book of Revelations.
Oh my lord, people actually liked the 2nd season? I thought it blew chunks...
4 and 1 were awesome, 3 and 5 were mediocre.
