Cheryl Cole has admitted that she is a little obsessed with shoes, lucky then that her first fashion line is a range of footwear for British website Stylistpick.
It seems like the former X Factor judge has been pretty hands on in designing the shoes too, unlike many celebrities who add their names to ranges they have barely even seen and speaking about why she decided that her first foray into design would be with footwear, she told Grazia magazine:
“I’ve always, always loved shoes but over the past few years I’ve definitely developed a proper fetish.
“I own about two thousand pairs of shoes – and that’s after giving quite a few away. I’m a bit weird with them. There are shoes I don’t wear anymore but I just can’t part with them.
“My absolute favourites are a lace pair of Louboutins. I wore them the first ever time I went to Cannes, two years ago. For me, all shoes have memories – wearing them on a certain occasion like that means the shoe gets that memory.”
In the videos below you can see Cheryl’s process of designing the shows, to her reaction when she first ‘meets’ her new creations.
The ‘Promise This’ hitmaker admits:
I’ve been dreaming about shoes, millions of them and I want the first six, or eight pairs to be everything I’ve ever dreamed of.
I have not been that excited in a long time. It makes my blood flow to be that creative and that involved.
After her first viewing of the finished products, she added:
So I just met my shoes for the first time and I fell in love with them all. I feel in love eight times tonight.
Today is just finalising the tiny details, I want to make them perfect.
It’s crazy because the having the anticipation of seeing them and opening them and having your visions come to life is an unexplainable feeling. It’s dreamy!
I’ve been asked to choose a favourite shoe and I can’t do that. I love them all and can’t choose a favourite.
I want a pair
