Lady Gaga To Become Ordained Minister

Lady Gaga Wants to be an Ordained Minister?

Lady Gaga is one great friend -- she's going to become an ordained minister just so she can officiate one of her friend's weddings.
Mama Monster has some fiercely loyal fans because of all the love she's shown for them over the years, so it's not that surprising that she's also a great friend. In fact, she's getting ready to be ordained as a minister so that she can officiate the wedding of her yoga instructor, Tricia Donegan.
Tricia is getting married to her female partner now that gay marriage is legal in New York, so what better wedding gift could Gaga give her pal than helping to make her marriage official?
Lady Gaga has also tossed around the idea of marrying gay couples onstage at her concerts - after all, since she's gone through the trouble of becoming an ordained minister, she might as well use her holy powers to help other couples celebrate their unions. She even teased that she might ask designer Jean Paul Gaultier to make her a controversial priest outfit.
The pop star would definitely be helping some of her gay and lesbian fans - after all, many ministers will not marry same sex couples even if it is legal in the state they reside in. Luckily Lady Gaga has lots of love for the LGBT community, and she definitely doesn't mind causing a controversy. After all, this is the girl who turned Jesus and Judas into bikers, and she's been known to dress like a sexy nun on occasion.
But Gaga better watch out - once the Westboro Baptist Church gets wind of her plans to become a minister, you can bet that they'll be picketing her shows. Fred Phelps' followers aren't exactly the most accepting group of people in the world, and they really have an issue with gay marriage. However, it's safe to say that little monsters would have them largely outnumbered at any picket targeting Gaga.
Mama Monster might also want to be worried about being called an imitator rather than an innovator once again. She's already been accused of copying Madonna's music and Grace Jones' style, and now she might be accused of copying Pope picture-ripping pop star Sinead O'Connor - she too became an ordained minister.
