SAN ANTONIO — Before Monday, Ramie Grimmer’s Facebook page read like that of any other 12 year old girl with numerous friends, discussions about skateboarding, text messaging and “my annoying little brother.” But about two hours after her mother had taken Ramie and her brother Timothy Grimmer, 10, and a human services worker hostage at a state office in Laredo, Texas, she posted the words, ‘may die 2day,’ police said on Wednesday.
The standoff ended late on Monday with Rachelle Grimmer shooting Ramie and Timothy once each in the head and then killing herself, police said.
Ramie and Timothy were flown to a San Antonio hospital in extremely critical condition after the shooting. Later Ramie died, while Timothy remains in critical condition on Thursday.
Hm, I would think maybe she was just really fearful after being taken as a hostage by her own Mom and posted it. But rest in peace to her, and hope her brother makes it.
She killed her kids and then herself because they were denied for food stamps. It's sad.

And as for the Facebook update, if she posted it two hours after being taken hostage, then it's really not that odd that she predicted her own death. If I were taken hostage, I definitely wouldn't anticipate coming out of it alive.
They were shot? So I'm assuming the mom has a gun, and obviously the girl has a phone that could connect to the internet. So how could they afford those, but not their food? If my family were starving, I'd rather sell those unnecessary stuff or beg for food than take my own relatives' lives.
No, the world is just fine. People are becoming more unstable.
It's a sad story, and I do not really like the authors choice of a title here. They make it sound like she predicted her death far in advanced. If I'm a kid and my mom is holding a gun saying were going to die then that's not predicting the future.
It was probably one of those "if I can't have you, nobody can" situations.
