So, it seems as though nowadays "Watch The Throne" is considered to be the best hip hop album from a hip hop male duo ever, considering it's rare hip hop duo albums ever happen, but I guess people are forgetting about "BlackStar" and their amazing revolutionary album released in 1998 entitled "Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star" . Not only was the lyrics better than Watch The Throne, but the overall production and feel of the album beat Watch The Throne by miles. Talib Kweli and Mos Def are veterans in the Hip Hop album and their overall approach was alot more mature and relatable than Watch The Throne. It's just something I felt the need to express.
I think these two are nearly impossible to compare. Watch the Throne has progressive elements in the production. It's considered so amazing because Jay and Kanye took sounds and styles that arent typically used in hip-hop, and added them in a new way. This album of course stands for itself in terms of being a classic rap album, but people who want "Who Gon Stop Me" type songs won't find it there. WTT caters to a new hip hop audience, so there really is no point trying to deem in inferior to a much older album...
